Install Xtarly Bridge (SICAR)
Step-by-step guide to install Xtarly Bridge on your SICAR computer and connect it to Xtarly with a code, so every sale adds points or stamps on its own.
Xtarly Bridge sends your SICAR sales to Xtarly so your customers earn points or stamps on their own. It only reads sales; to create its own read-only user it needs the SICAR MySQL password once. You install it once and then it works by itself. It only takes a few minutes.
SICAR is in assisted beta. If you don't see the Download Xtarly Bridge button in the dashboard, write to us and we'll send you the installer. What the integration does and how each sale is linked to your customer: SICAR in the integrations panel.
The installer is in Spanish. This guide gives each button in Spanish with its meaning, e.g. Siguiente (Next).
Before you start
- Use the main SICAR computer: the one that stores the database (if you have several registers, it's the one acting as server). Install it only on that one and only once.
- Sign in to Windows with an administrator account.
- Have one of these two things at hand (step 4 asks for them):
- the SICAR MySQL root password: the one set when SICAR was installed. If you don't know it, ask whoever installed SICAR for you (technician or reseller); or
- a read-only user with its password, which the SICAR technician can create for Xtarly.
- Keep Xtarly open on your phone or in another tab: in step 5 you'll need a code.
1. Download the installer
In Xtarly go to Settings → Integrations → SICAR → Connect and click Download Xtarly Bridge. A file named XtarlyBridge-Setup-….exe is downloaded. Next to the button you'll see the version and file size.
If the browser warns that the file "isn't commonly downloaded", choose Keep (in Edge: the three dots next to the file → Keep → Keep anyway). The warning shows up because the program is new, not because something is wrong with it.
2. Open it and let Windows run it
Double-click the file. Windows will show a blue screen saying "Windows protected your PC". It appears because the program isn't digitally signed yet; it's normal with new programs:
- Click More info.
- Check that it says
XtarlyBridge-Setupand click Run anyway.
Then Windows asks whether you want to allow the app to make changes to your device (it will say "Unknown publisher"). Click Yes.
If Windows won't let you open it
- Smart App Control (Windows 11): if it says it blocked the app and Run anyway does not appear, Windows doesn't allow programs without a digital signature, like this one. Don't turn it off on your own: write to Xtarly support and we'll sort it out with you.
- Antivirus: if your antivirus deletes the file, quarantines it or won't let it open, write to Xtarly support before changing anything in the antivirus. For now the program has no digital signature and some antivirus products distrust that; it can't always be solved from here.
3. Welcome and SICAR detection
Click Siguiente (Next). The installer looks for SICAR on its own and tells you «Encontramos SICAR» (We found SICAR). Click Siguiente.
If it says it didn't find SICAR: check you're on the main computer, open SICAR once and click Reintentar (Retry).
4. Access to the SICAR database
Xtarly Bridge only reads SICAR sales. Choose one option:
- «Tengo la contraseña de root de MySQL de SICAR» (I have the SICAR MySQL root password): type it and click Siguiente. It's used only once to create a user that can only read, and it is not stored.
- «Ya tengo un usuario de solo lectura» (I already have a read-only user): type the user and password the technician gave you.
The installer checks the password right away. If it says it couldn't sign in, check upper and lower case or ask whoever installed SICAR for it again.
5. Type the Xtarly code
In Xtarly, under Settings → Integrations → SICAR → Connect, you'll see an 8-character code of letters and numbers (for example ABCD-2345). Type it and click Siguiente.
The installer shows your business and branch name: if it's yours, click Sí (Yes). The code expires in 15 minutes and works only once: if it expires, generate another one in Xtarly.
If it says your business reached its connection limit, disconnect one you no longer use in Xtarly (or upgrade your plan) and click Siguiente again: the code keeps working until it expires. If it says a branch must be chosen, generate a new code choosing the branch.
6. Installation
The installer connects the program to SICAR and to Xtarly, copies it and waits for its first signal. It can take a couple of minutes. When it's done you'll see «¡Listo!» (Done); within a few minutes, Xtarly (Settings → Integrations → SICAR) will say Connected.
Test: make a sale and, in SICAR's Comentario (Comment) button, type the phone number of a customer who is already in your program. It shows up in Xtarly within a minute or two.
Keeping it running
- Keep the main SICAR computer on and online. Xtarly Bridge starts with Windows, even if nobody opens SICAR.
- If the computer shuts down or the internet drops, sales stay saved in SICAR and Xtarly Bridge sends them when the connection is back. If you reinstall SICAR or move it to another computer, write to Xtarly support first.
- You don't need to open anything or leave any window open.
If something goes wrong
- If the installer says a step is missing, click Copiar diagnóstico (Copy diagnostics). It tells you whether it copied the summary (paste it with Ctrl+V in a message) and where it left the file «Diagnostico Xtarly Bridge.txt» (usually on your Desktop). Send both to Xtarly support. They contain no passwords, and phone numbers and emails are hidden.
- You can reopen the installer whenever you want: it's safe to repeat. If it was already installed, it repairs it without losing anything; if something fails halfway, it leaves what was already working in place.
- If your antivirus blocks Xtarly Bridge, write to Xtarly support (see "If Windows won't let you open it").
- If the installer warns that Xtarly Bridge «está abierto en una ventana» (is open in a window), close that window and click Reintentar (Retry).
Removing it
Windows Settings → Apps → Xtarly Bridge → Uninstall. When it asks whether to also delete the configuration, answer No (unless support tells you otherwise): that way, if you install it again, it picks up exactly where it left off.
